9 Moving Tips

  1. Label EVERYTHING

  2. Go through clothing first, throw away/ donate items you know you won’t wear anymore as you go. My biggest recommendation is starting with whatever season you are NOT currently in. For example, I am moving and packing in the summer, so I tackled my winter clothes first.

  3. Really ask yourself if you NEED the item, or WANT the item. This will help you declutter.

  4. Start purchasing boxes early. My family unfortunately did not do this. We were constantly running out of boxes and running out searching for them (they are not an easy find).

  5. Save your car space for valuables and things that can easily break.

  6. Write down how many boxes/bins belong to you. When it comes to the actual move in day, things will be placed in the wrong rooms, so having a list AND having everything labeled will save you the hassle of running around trying to find things.

  7. Take your time unpacking, it doesn’t have to get done immediately and all at once, but don’t sit around and wait.

  8. Pack yourself a a bag with clothes and toiletries.

  9. On moving day, have toilet paper, paper towels, and garbage bags readily accessible.
