Cancel Culture

What is the cancel culture? It's the popular trend of withdrawing support for public figures and companies after they have done or said something seen as offensive.
The catch? It's all on social media. And by that I mean people are publicly shaming these public figures or companies. Don't get me wrong, it isn't like I disagree with this. I agree with the act of withdrawing support is a company or person has done something offensive.
However, what I don't agree with is publicly shaming people on social media. I personally believe that the cancel culture is totally different than freedom of speech, if anything it is a social form of banishment or cultural boycott.
Below are just a few people/companies who have been "canceled"
Bill Cosby
Harvey Weinstein
David SHor
Kevin Heart
Ellen DeGeneres
R. Kelly
Jessie Smollet
Michael Jackson
Shane Gillis
Scarlett Johansson
Jimmy Fallon
Jeffree Star
Lea Michele
Aunt Jemima
Goya
