How to Break a Bad Habit

Everyone has bad habits, and there isn't anything necessarily wrong with that, unless the habit is not beneficial for you. Breaking a bad habit is a difficult task, but sometimes understanding how they are formed can help a person break them.
There are many theories around breaking bad habits and how they develop, but the main one is the 3 R's:
Reminder
Routine
Reward
With these in mind, here are some useful ways to break a bad habit:
Identify your triggers.
Focus and remind yourself on why you want to change.
Don't do it alone, get support!
Find a new, healthy habit to replace the bad one.
Prepare for slip ups and remind yourself that it's okay when they occur.
Visualize yourself breaking the bad habit
Practice self care
Leave yourself helpful reminders
Believe that YOU CAN break the bad habit!
