There are 6 types of anxiety disorders:
Separation Anxiety
Specific Phobia
Social Anxiety
Panic Disorder
Agoraphobia
Generalized Anxiety disorder
So what is anxiety? It's the bodies natural response to stress. It's a feeling of fear or apprehension of what's to come. The fear represents an emotional response to real or imagined threat. There are two different types:
Trait Anxiety, which refers to the personalized internal feelings that everyone has. The difference is when people experience anxiety or fear in accordance with the same or similar threatening situation.
State Anxiety refers to the overall period of fearful, anxious episodes. Such that, when a threat is present or perceived to be imminent, individuals experience anxiety or fear.
One person can suffer intense anxiety attacks that strike without warning, while others get panicky at the thought of going to a party and interacting with people.
The Stigma Behind Anxiety
"Everyone feels anxious when their stressed".
False.
Anxiety lingers everyday, it is unrelenting and unpredictable. No one wants to live like this. Unfortunately, it isn't as simple as taking a breath and relaxing. It's a disorder that is real, and something millions struggle with. And it should be talked about more instead of joked about or shoved deep into closets to be kept a secret.
