I will proudly admit that I have a love-hate relationship with my curly hair. Some days, I love the way my natural hair dries with a beautiful and bouncy curl. Other days, my hair is strictly a giant frizz ball with a curl here and there.
For years I turned to heating products to tame or get rid of all together, my curls. As a result, my curls flattened and my hair is essentially dead. Now, I am determined more than ever to restore my hair and bring back my wild yet fun curls.
With that being said, I've learned a couple things so far and thought I would share!
Tip 1: Avoid Excess Shampooing- it can suck out natural moisture.
Tip 2: Use Pre Shampoo Treatment- apply a hair mask before showering to naturally detangle and further moisture your hair!
Tip 3: Never brush curly hair- and if you do, use a wide toothed comb (and never brush your hair wet).
Tip 4: Minimize hot tools- high temperature styling tools can remove the natural texture of your curls!
Tip 5: Use a satin or silk pillow care- this reduces frizz as well as the friction between your hair and your pillow.
Tip 6: Don't wash your hair everyday- it strips your hair of its natural oils that are healthy for your hair!
Tip 7: Find the right products for you and your hair- and stick to them!!!
