I Got A Job!

I am proud to announce that I got a job! I am a Marketing Assistant at a Digital Marketing Agency!
I started the process a month before graduation, and I have to admit, it was BEYOND stressful. I think the biggest reason was because I put so much pressure on myself. I really pushed myself to graduate in four years (despite taking a semester off) and I expected myself to have a job right out of college.
When it came to searching and applying, the market was tough. Not only was I competing against other college graduates, but people who lost their jobs due to Covid and were searching for another one. I applied to at least five jobs a week, and I was lucky that I heard back from ten in total.
When it came to interviewing for my current position, there were three stages. The first one was a phone call interview, just getting to know each other and discussing the overall interview process. When I got a call inviting me to the second interview, I was beyond excited!
I was lucky I did my research on the company, because during the second round (a video call) a lot of questions regarding the agency and what I could bring to the table for them were asked. My experience was discussed, my hopes and dreams mentioned, and laughs shared. I felt confident after the second interview, but nervous and unsure if I would be invited back for the final round.
When I got the email asking to meet in person for the final interview, I cried (partly because I was so relieved and partly because I was terrified). When the day of the interview came, I got to the place an hour earlier than I needed to be (thanks anxiety).
I honestly think I blacked out at some point during the interview, because I honestly don't remember a think about it now. I must have made a good impression though, and I must have passed with flying numbers, because a week later I got the email congratulating me and telling me I got the job!
As I write this, I am about to start my fourth week working! I absolutely love it and could not be happier. I love the work I am doing, I love the office environment, the people, everything!
I do have to be honest though, I am not used to working all day at a desk with only a 30 minute lunch break. I know it sounds odd, and it sounds odd saying it! But I am so used to a college schedule of having one class, then a break, then another class, and a break, and so on. It's an adjustment waking up early, getting to work, and grinding until it's time to leave.
As time goes on and I gain more experience and learn new things at work, I'll give you updates, but right now- I'm happy and love what I'm doing!
