My Family Christmas Curse

It is a fact in my family that we have a curse surrounding the holidays, more specifically, Christmas. My family has always held Christmas at our house, and since I could remember, we always had someone dress up as Santa.

The family and I soon realized we had a curse when my cousins were old enough to start dating and they brought their significant others to celebrate the holiday with the family. Naturally, we had them dress up as Santa. After that, the relationships did not go any further. One of my cousins, as a result, refused to let her boyfriend dress up as Santa (they are now getting married).

So, it is a curse in my family. Any man who is not already in the family, cannot dress up as Santa, otherwise the relationship will not last! We don't know how this happened, but I am determined to make sure that when I bring my significant other to celebrate Christmas with my family and I, he does NOT dress up as Santa.
