The One Where She Graduates College

Ladies and gentleman, it is my honor to announce that I have officially graduated from Quinnipiac University! The last four years have been a wild ride. It was during my time at college that I acknowledged my struggles with mental and physical health and came to the realization that I had to prioritize myself over everything else.

I took time off from school, and it is safe to say it was the hardest decision of my life. When it came to making the decision, many people brought up the fact that I would not graduate on time, something that was very important to me. I was nervous to put a pause on my education, but at the end of the day I knew my education would suffer if I continued without getting the help I needed.

After taking the much needed time off and getting the help required, I returned back to school determined to prove everyone wrong, and graduate on time. I threw myself into my work and gave up my winter and summer breaks in order to catch up. I don't regret a single moment, because today I can proudly say that I did it, I graduated college in four years despite taking time off.

To everyone who has been there for me, whether it was by reading my blog, supporting me on social media, physically being there as a friend or family member, thank you. I would not be where I am if it wasn't for you. Naturally, people tell me to give myself some credit. But without the people behind me, pushing me, believing in me, I would not have had the courage to keep going, to fight for what I want and achieve my dreams.

As to what's next, I'm not really sure, but I know whatever life throws my way, I'll be able to handle it. Wish me luck!
