Recently, my family and I went through a move, and let me tell you it was a very interesting process. With my brother away and starting his freshman year of college, it was up to my mom, dad, and I to do the majority of the heavy lifting (something I was not accustomed to).
When boxes and belongings were dispersed in the proper rooms, the unpacking began. I will admit, entering my bedroom and seeing all the boxes was extremely overwhelming. I however, created a plan to tackle on the unpacking.
On day one, i was determined to locate the boxes with my bedding, chargers, and pajamas. Once located, I immediately put together my bed, plugged in my chargers, and changed into some clean clothes. My next step was finding the box that contained my toiletries and placed them in their respective places in the bathroom. By the time I was done with that, bed time was quickly approaching and I was beyond tired from the long moving day.
On day two I tackled boxes that contained daily/lounging clothing, shoes, and more bathroom items. I will admit, it took some time for me to figure out where I wanted to put my things, but thats more because of my type A personality.
By day three I was ready to tackle the rest of my closet, my desk, curtains, and clothing rack. In the week and a half this unpacking was taking place, I felt like I was finally settling into the new house and my room and closet was coming together.
However, taking a step back, I recognize there is still a lot of work and unpacking to be done. I have yet to hang up decorations due to the fact that the entire house has to be painted, and I still have my spare room that needs organizing (I’ve unfortunately gotten into the bad habit of dumping my random things in there). BUT, slowly and surely, everything is coming together.
The process of unpacking is very hectic, and there are things EVERYWHERE, but I am excited to see the end result, and to show all of you!
